Why Jesus? (Easter Sunday)

Pastor Mike Cooper

Sunday, April 21, 2019

As Christians, we believe that the name of Jesus is the name above every other name. With his name comes healing, hope, forgiveness, peace and salvation. Jesus is why we celebrate Easter! But in our culture today, there’s a lot of doubt as to whether or not Jesus really did rise again. You may have heard of some of these doubts. Maybe you’ve even had some of these doubts yourself. When you look at the Gospel accounts and read through the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, and how the disciples responded - it’s almost as if the story were unbelievably believable. The evidence is clear, the remaining issue is what will you do with it? In this powerful message, you’ll discover that as followers of Jesus the cross of Jesus is a reminder that in Him we have the victory. In Him, we have hope.  Because of the resurrection…you can believe even if you never have before.

The Difference Between Jesus & Judaism

Sunday, May 05, 2019

Judaism traces its roots to the beginning of time. They base most of their beliefs in the Torah, the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. They believe that God appointed them to be his ‘chosen people’ to set an example of holiness and ethical behavior to the world. The greatest difference between a Jew and a Christian is how they view Jesus. To the Jew, he was just a good man who lived this earth and taught good things, but He is not the Messiah. To the Christian, he is the Messiah, the savior of the world. In this insightful message, we’ll take a look at who Jesus is and what He has done for those who believes in Him.

The Difference Between Jesus & Catholicism

Sunday, May 12, 2019

What makes Christianity distinct is that it's the only religion built on grace. God gives you salvation. You don't have to earn it. You can't earn it. You can't buy it. And you can't work for it. Grace is the offer that we don’t deserve. And often it can’t be received until we’re aware of how undeserving we are. Everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved. Everybody gets in the same way and everybody can meet God’s requirement of faith. In this powerful message, you’ll discover some differences between Christianity and Catholicism and that God’s grace is for everyone.

The Difference Between Jesus & Buddha

Sunday, May 19, 2019

Buddhism a religion that was founded by Siddhartha Gautama – Buddha – more than 2,500 years ago in India. It’s goal is to eliminate suffering from the world and embrace the concepts of karma and reincarnation. Reincarnation is the continuous cycle of rebirth. You’re a human being in this life, but in the next life you could be a cow, a tree, or a cat. There is no life after death, just reincarnation. As Christians, we believe God created us on purpose for a purpose. But the purpose of life is far greater than our own personal fulfillment, our peace of mind, or even our happiness. It’s ‘in Christ’ where we find out who we are and what we’re living for. In this message, you’ll discover how God sees us and what it means to believe in Him.

The Difference Between Jesus & Jehovah Witness

Sunday, May 26, 2019

The goal of this series is not to find common ground, because there are many differences, but it’s to understand more fully who God is, and appreciate all that He’s done for us. It’s to better understand why we believe what we believe. Because let’s be honest, many of us do not fully understand what we believe. As Christians we believe that Jesus is the creator of life, the beginning and the end, He is the reconciler, the rescuer and the redeemer. In this message, you’ll discover that we have direct access to God because of Jesus and His sacrificial love for us.
