What is Journey Kidz?
Journey Kidz is our children’s ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind! Our vision is that every kid in Journey Kidz will love Jesus Christ, love their Church, and love their Community.
Every Sunday all children (babies through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way
What are we about?
What are we about?
We exist to:
Capture every child’s imagination to capture their heart for Jesus Christ.
“Let the little children come” (Luke 18:16-17) so they may experience the love of Jesus Christ through our atmosphere, our lessons, and our volunteers
Start and deepen their relationship with Jesus through teaching and reinforcing Bible stories and Christian values
Support and provide resources for families to love Jesus together
Develop kids who are fully participating members of their church: who are or will be baptized, serving with their time and talents, and actively seeking the Holy Spirit
We will always be exactly who God made us to be, and be accepted that way
Our teaching is relational, experiential, applicable, and learner based.
Because the love language of every child is fun.
We love each other as Jesus loves us.
We honor and respect each other in our words, bodies, and hearts.
Including physical, emotional, and spiritual safety.
Blue Zone (2 mos—2 years)
This zone is for our littlest ones. With our background checked, wonderful baby snugglers, your child will be safe. During this time, we pray over our babies, read Bible stories, and play with our favorite toys. We want them to know who God is, and what His love feels like.
Yellow Zone (3yrs—Pre-K)
In our Yellow Zone, we begin to establish a foundation in who Jesus is. We want our little ones to know who Jesus is, and know they have a choice to follow him. They will be learning how to pray and sing and dance for God. Our environment is designed with their age group and developmental milestones in mind!
Orange Zone (K-5th Grade)
Each Sunday, we teach the unrelenting love of Jesus. We want them to accept Jesus as their Savior. Encouraging them to dream big with God in their faith and prayers, to learn how we hear God., we move our kids toward baptism, service, and living in the power of the Holy Spirit!
We achieve this through intentional discipleship: large group teachings with small group discussions. Each week, our kids personally connect with our team members!
First time at Journey Kidz?
Look for the area designated for check in for our Journey Kidz. We will meet your family, check your child into our database system, and one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate zone.
We will have you fill out a Journey Kidz connection card, and ask for the following personal information: parent or guardian's name(s), children’s names and birth dates, address, phone number, email, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs, etc.) for your child.
How does check in work?
Our check-in stations will open 15 minutes prior to the service. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching tag. After the service, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will text or call the number you left on our Journey Kidz connection card. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.
Our curriculum has take home sheets at each service. On your way home, be sure to ask your child questions like, “Did you have fun?” and “What did you learn today?” During the week, you can use the take home sheet for activities and discussion questions about what they learned on Sunday.
Still have questions?
Our volunteers all wear Journey Kidz blue shirts, with a friendly "Hi!" on the front. Please don't hesitate to ask them any questions--that 's what they are here for!
If you have any questions during the week, feel free to email our Director of Children's Ministry, Monina Ramos, at Monina@JourneyQueens.com
